Immerse yourself in Bansko’s rich history and culture by incorporating one or more of its abandoned buildings into your creative process. These structures can serve as your muse, be integrated into your artwork, or act as unique exhibition spaces. Your work will be documented and showcased online at moaa.art, bringing your artistic journey to a global audience.

Exhibition

At the conclusion of your residency, your creations will be featured on the MoAA website, with additional exposure through live viewings on our YouTube and Instagram channels, and potentially an exhibition with local partners. While Bansko’s remote and off-the-beaten-path locations might limit physical visitors, MoAA ensures your art reaches a wide and appreciative audience online.

Accommodation

Enjoy complimentary accommodation in a dedicated artist apartment (1BR), ideal for solo artists or couples. Situated in the upper part of town, near the tranquil forest, this cozy apartment offers a perfect retreat after a day of creative exploration.

Duration

The residency spans up to 4 weeks, providing ample time to develop and refine your work.

Living Expenses

As a non-commercial program without public funding, participants are responsible for their travel and living expenses. However, with affordable flights to Bulgaria and the low cost of living in Bansko, you can manage on a budget of around 250€/month if you shop locally.

Application is open
